The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Ordinary Member to the Board of Health and Safety Authority.
Essential
Candidates wishing to apply must demonstrate in their application evidence of experience at the appropriately senior level in a minimum of two of the following areas:
• Senior management / Board experience• Corporate Governance• Accountancy/ Financial experience• Cyber security, • ICT / Artificial Intelligence• Human resources• Change Management• Risk Management• Occupational Health and Safety• Occupational Health and Safety - medical physician• Chemicals and Market Surveillance• Accreditation • Farming
Desirable
It is also desirable that candidates demonstrate evidence of experience in the following:
• A knowledge and experience of good corporate governance practices that demonstrate commitment to the highest standards of integrity and governance.• A track record of working with teams and/or committees (either professional or voluntary).• Analytical and strategic management capability and proficiency.• A working understanding of financial planning, service planning, budgets and good financial management practice.• A working knowledge and experience of Ireland’s and/or the EU’s occupational health and safety and/or chemicals regulatory systems and/or demonstrate knowledge and understanding of accreditation.• Achievements attained in areas of direct relevance to Ireland’s and/or EU’s regulatory systems.
In addition to the above, applicants must also demonstrate in their application evidence of:
• Corporate Governance/Compliance Significant experience at senior board or executive level of high standard in corporate governance and compliance practices. Board members must be committed to the highest standards of integrity and governance in order to contribute to the maintenance of the Authority’s strong reputation for impartiality as a national regulatory body.
• Strategic Management/Change Management Significant senior level experience in developing and implementing strategy or change management in a public or private sector organisation.
• Effective Communication and Building ConsensusIt is essential that candidates are able to work well with; - Board members (including members nominated by organisations of employers and workers organisations) - The Executive of the Health and Safety Authority - The HSA’s parent Department Minister and Senior Officials - Dept Enterprise, Tourism and Employment
