Role Overview

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Ordinary Member to the Board of The Irish National Stud DAC.

Essential

Candidates wishing to apply must demonstrate in their application evidence of significant experience at the appropriately senior level in one or more of the following areas:

• Engaging in the design or management of PR and Marketing campaigns.
• The development and management of strategic planning and business development in a complex business environment.
• Financial management/experience of interpreting financial reports.

Desirable

It is also desirable that candidates demonstrate evidence of experience in the following:

• Experience or knowledge of the thoroughbred breeding, racing and bloodstock sectors.
• Qualifications and/or membership of professional bodies in the area of risk management and/or corporate governance/compliance.
• Experience of the tourism and/or the retail sectors.
• Experience or knowledge of environmental sustainability matters relevant to the agribusiness sector.
• Experience or knowledge of Infrastructure development, capital investment projects preferably in the bloodstock and/or tourism sectors.
• Professional experience of senior management recruitment, HR and/or IR.
