Senior Executive Architect

The Senior Executive Architect works as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering architectural services to the Local Authority and provides advice and leadership to the team. Reporting to the City Architect, or such other designated person(s) as may be assigned from time to time, the post holder will deliver a programme of architectural work and provide advice on all architectural matters. The programme of work may include responsibility for the construction/refurbishment of housing accommodation, management and maintenance of Council property, public realm work and architectural advice as well as leadership and input to the positive development of the region.

Making a significant contribution to master planning.
Designing housing schemes, community facilities, public buildings, and other related works.
Managing and maintaining Council property effectively.
Preparation of project appraisals.
Procuring and managing design teams.
Managing all stages of construction/refurbishment/maintenance from procurement to final account.

Internal services include Finance, ICT, Human Resources, Legal Affairs, and Corporate Affairs.
An opportunity now exists in Cork City Council for the position of Senior Executive Architect.
Salary Scale effective from 1st February 2026:
€79,881 - €82,330 - €83,503 - €85,968 - €88,454 - €90,933 - €93,430 - €96,567 (LSI1) - €99,695 (LSI2)
Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 35 hours gross per week.
The annual leave allowance for the position of Senior Executive Architect is 30 days.
